Oak Knoll is an older and more classic area of Pasadena, known for its native oak trees. In the 19th century it was an estate region and many of the classic homes remain. One of the primary landmarks in Oak Knoll is the old Huntington Hotel, built in 1906, more recently The Ritz-Carlton, and currently the Langham Huntington Hotel & Spa.
Oak Knoll boasts the architecture of the famous Greene & Greene brothers, Sylvanus Marston and Wallace Neff.

Once the site of a sheep ranch owned by Henry Huntington, this neighborhood began its life before the turn of the 20th century featuring many grand estates. These estates were built to showcase the lovely native oaks growing in the area.
