| Garfield Heights has a rich history that goes back to the days of John H. Painter and Benjamin F. Ball. These midwestern pioneers moved their families to Pasadena in the 1860's. In 1881, both Painter and Ball decided to buy 2,000 acres of land. Today, Garfield Heights consists of a small portion of the original 2000 acres purchased by Painter and Ball. The neighborhood was annexed in 1904 and received it's name "Garfield Heights." | ![]() | |
