Aroyo Seco, other wise
known as "The Arroyo" is the
neighborhood surrounding Brookside Park
North of the 134 Freeway. In Pasadena's
early days the Arroyo Seco was a pleasant
village with orchards of walnuts, olives
and citrus trees. Because of its magnificent
scenery and balmy climate, the Arroyo
Seco became a favorite spot for hiking,
fishing and hunting.
The neighborhood streets
are characterized by many tall trees and
shaded streets. The homes are termendous
in a tranquil, mountain like rural setting.
